ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Youth Assistance Foundation (YAF) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization (Tax ID # 74-2462242). The foundation supports programs that prevent youth violence and promotes social development, good role models, and positive interaction with law enforcement. The promotion of youth health and wellness programs in our community that strengthen the family unit is the cornerstone of our future.

The Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with community leaders, sponsors fund raising activities for the organization’s youth activities. Established in 1985, the YAF consists of a board of directors comprised of business and civic leaders volunteering their time for the betterment of the community. YAF supports the following programs:

  • Annual Christmas Toy Drive
  • Camp Future Force
  • Explorer Program
  • Project B.R.A.V.E (Bringing Reality About Violence Education)
  • S.M.A.R.T. Tents (Shocking Mainstream Adolescents into Resisting Temptations)
  • S.T.A.R.S. Program (Sheriff’s Teaching Abuse Resistance to Students)
  • Youth Boxing Team
